Counselling assessment... Empty Counselling assessment...

Post by Vanilla2 on March 21st 2012, 7:35 am

This morning I had my first counselling assessment which lasted 50 minutes. I had a three month wait for this. At the end, she said I have many issues here, and if I was to be booked in for further sessions, which one issue would be the most important to me to resolve. The main one for us to focus on.

And I could not give her an answer. Hopeless

Obviously Vanilla you have a commitment problem and you do not want to commit yourself to just one thing Smile .

I dont think you can choose one, cos they would all tie in together.
If one can be chosen, nethinks, she as the counsellor should choose it, cos she should know which 'layer' needs to go first.

I found a counsellor for an issue I could not sort out myself.
She is a spiritual and we worked very well together.

Surely just talking would determine what issue to work on each visit.

I am to go see her same time next week. But she asked me the question " what do you want to get out of it " referring to the counselling, and it was a question I could not answer, I still cant answer today.

Mine asked the same question.
I dont know your issues, but for mine, I answered when I dont have the issues anymore.

My counsellor also asked me how I would know when I wouldnt need to see her anymore.
I answered "when I dont feel nervous on the way to see her"

Yes lady, you are loved xxx

I'm worried that I've become dissilutioned lately and lost track of what I want. Or what I want, need, has to come from me, not counselling.

Mia, I guess it all comes down to money, not mine but theres, and time plays an important part too. They only have the time and funds to work on the one important issue only. And I am not helping as I dont know what that is.

I know I have a long standing fear of entrapment, of feeling trapped, no where to escape to. If and when needed.

I also have a need to be in control, to keep control. I do not like control taken away from me. Or be controlled by others.

Sounds to me like you pretty much have things pegged Vanilla. The next challenge is how to be sneaky and slick about things Smile . I have the same issues as you do, but of course I would never be slick or sneaky about anything Smile .
